Hey!
Do you ever take a look out of the window to appreciate the beauty of where you live? I know that I like to do this in my hometown of Brisbane, Australia.
I’ll give you a gist of the weather patterns here. Our summers happen during Christmas and New Year’s, and our winters happen during the middle of the year, not too long after Easter. In Brisbane particularly, the winters are usually rather dry with very sparse occasions of rain and the spring and autumn seasons are usually the rainiest, with summer frequently alternating between sunny and stormy in the same day or multiple times in the same week. One thing I like is that the sky is often frequently clear of clouds and a brilliant blue colour regardless of season. I especially like our blue skies.
Right now, it’s late spring, heading into summer. The weather is a lot hotter now than it was a month or two ago, and there’s more frequent storms happening after hot spells. The sunshine here is also very strong and bright, illuminating practically everything in sight. White concrete becomes difficult to look at, and the atmosphere outside any air conditioned building feels like an incredibly comfortable sauna. I’ve grown to like the warm weather as I’ve lived here.
That’s not to say that other very different parts of the world are not beautiful, too. I haven’t travelled much around the world, but I’ve been across parts of East Asia, like China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. The weather across those places and different regions within them have their own unique beauty about them, especially across their different seasons or even lack thereof. I’ve also been to other parts of Australia, like North Queensland, Byron Bay, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, and within Australia, there is still a rather high degree of weather variation, as Brisbane feels rather cold compared with further north in Queensland during winter, and the cities along the southern coast are comparatively drier in summer than Brisbane and prone to cold spells. Additionally, there are many parts of the rest of the world that I haven’t been to that have their own natural sense of beauty about themselves, particularly the colder parts of the world that see frequent snow in winter. Additionally, there are many parts of the world where a clear blue sky is an infrequent sight, like the northern half of Europe. Even then, there is still a beauty about frequently overcast and rainy skies, as well as super long winter nights, sometimes peppered with auroras, that I would not be familiar with.
Seeing a place in its full beauty is a great sight to see.
