“Cry” out now!

I have just released my newest song, “Cry”. I decided to write simpler music, and adopting a rhythm and blues style helped with that process a lot to distinguish it from my harder styles of music.

Recently, I’ve been learning more about how to make good music with less sounds, particularly from less instruments. I still produce it on a computer, but it does tend to sound more and more like music you would hear a rock band perform easily compared with something heavily orchestrated that sounds like a movie or game soundtrack. Admittedly, I still like that complicated sound, but it does take longer, and frankly, most people I am aware of are too frantic in their lives to take their time to enjoy such things.

I’ve been enjoying just playing around with my guitar to produce some chords, while imagining a certain sound in my head. I do think people do latch onto the simplest ideas in music, and from that kernel, I can grow a great tapestry around it. It’s such a shame that it takes a long time to do, and often it would go unappreciated if it was not for a large, anticipated project.
